Walt Mozdzer is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a Wealth Coach with Syverson Strege & Company. His day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and updating financial and investment plans, meeting with clients, and managing all facets of his clients’ financial well-being. Having acquired broad financial services experience in tax, retirement plans and investment theory, Walt joined the firm in 1999.
He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), a fee-only association of financial planners who have each demonstrated competence using a rigorous peer-review process. Walt is also a member and past board member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) local chapter and belongs to the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AIP). He has participated in numerous community outreach efforts and has been quoted in the Des Moines Register, Des Moines Business Record, NAPFA Advisor, and Mainstreet.com.
In an effort to provide leadership to the firm, Walt is a member of the Operations Team and Strategic Planning team and serves as the Director of Marketing. He originally hails from Boca Raton, Florida, is a former Navy officer and graduate of Duke University and lives now in Altoona with his wife Janna. In his off-time, Walt enjoys staying fit, gourmet cooking, and landscaping projects.
